Emanuela Monni
BIO

Emanuela Monni is an Italian drummer, dance accompanist and community-focused artist based in North London.
Her versatile style draws from jazz, African traditions, folk, electronic, and experimental music, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and cross-disciplinary work.
Since moving to London in 2014, she has performed at major venues and festivals including the Southbank Centre, Glastonbury, and the Donmar Warehouse, where she appeared in the acclaimed production The Cherry Orchard. Emanuela’s practice includes immersive and improvisational projects such as 'Honk!', a live series combining music and contemporary dance, and collaborative residencies like Change at Snape Maltings.
Research trips to Ghana and Senegal have profoundly shaped her rhythmic language, and deepened her versatility and open minded approach, which has made her a generative force in projects of all stripes like Rooftop Assembly—a folk/grime fusion band featured by the BBC and The Guardian.
Alongside her performance career, Emanuela leads participatory workshops and is currently training as a music workshop leader, exploring music as a tool for connection and healing.
